Twitter

As if blogs and social networking sites weren't enough; get ready to Twitter ! Twitter is a service used as a communication tool that allows users to post mini blogs of 140 characters or less and keep followers updated about what the user is doing throughout the day. Celebrities and news agencies are already using Twitter to keep others updated. Will you follow next?

  1. I must say I don't really find the need nor do i really want to know everything that is going on with everyone. But on the other hand for news and up to date information this can really get everyone connected and get the word spread very quickly.

  3. I signed up for Twitter as per requested for this class. I am finding that I do not like it. In some ways it is like Facebook, which I have an account on, but I find there are many differences. Twitter takes to long to navigate if there are a lot of people on it. If there are too many, you cannot log on at all. Both FB and Twitter let everyone know what you are doing at all times, but that is only because you choose to let everyone know. I know you can choose to follow friends or well known people. I am not one who has time for all of this. I also do not feel the need to let people know what I am doing at all times.

  4. Will I follow next - probably not. I have managed up until now to avoid the instant message craze. I know twitter is not instant messaging however the idea of short quips of information never appealed to me for use on a widespread basis. I think these short message tools serve to shorten our attention span and butcher the language.

  5. As much as i think twitter, mysapce, facebook and such are good way to get in touch with old friends, I really am not a huge fan of twitter. It seems like thats what everyone is talking aobut lately. I'm not so much of a follower!

  7. Not a fan, nor do i want to even give it a shot. I would rather stick to what i do now to get in touch with everyone.

  8. i believe this is nothing more than an attempt to get celebrity crazed bubble heads who subscribe to people and entertainment magazine, and tune into Oprah when there are special guests. I am unaware obviously of the difference between going onto CNN's twitter account or just plain accessing their normal website for the same updates and news feeds?
