OnStar was created by GM to help with communication in the car. If you have OnStar and you are in an accident, the OnStar Center is able to locate you through the GPS on your system and send immediate help. The center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This type of communication would be ideal for elderly or young drivers. You have a phone number to the car and anyone can reach you on it.

Onstar is a pretty cool thing to have. I have seen many commercials about it. I really think all cars should come equip with it. Just recently there was an accident on route 1 where the guy actually went off the road and hit a tree and ended up dying because no one found him for weeks! If he had onstar then all of the heartache could have been advoided!
ReplyDeleteThis is really interesting. Safety is very important and it should be one of the first priority in everyones life. Hopefully soon the auto industry would include this device in all auto since they do so much other stuff for safety.
ReplyDeleteI think that this was one of the greatest things ever invented. I dont have it in my car but I wish I did. God forbid, anything really serious were to happen all one would need to do is push a button.
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to know that someone is watching out for you. For some people, it is understandable that you may not want to be followed, but for many of us, we prefer safety and convenience. This is great on a number of levels. The GPS will locate your stolen car. There is now a system that will even cut off the accelerator. If you leave your keys in the car, they can remotely open it. If you are in a crash, they can send help and a tow truck if needed.
ReplyDeleteOn star is really a great use of technology. I agree that all cars should come equiped with at least something like it. On star is really cool ive seen comercials for it before but didnt know too much about it.
ReplyDeleteI have onstar in my car and I love it!!!!!! It's a little weird though to push a button and someone says "hello Ms. Ingram" and then they tell you exactly where you are...BUT it's great because if your airbags deploy they call you and if you don't answer they send help immediately and know exactly where you are. They also know when your gas cap is open!!! They can also send you a monthly report on how your car is doing as far as like an engine check or how long you have for your oil life remaining. It's great technology.
ReplyDeleteI think On Star is a great thing to have in a car. I feel that every car should have it or something like it. This technology would save so many lives. There are so many accidents that happen like going off the road and there is no one around and the person dies just because no one knew it happened. Hopefully automakers will realize that this is an excellent technology that every car needs to have in it.
ReplyDeleteOn Star is an incredible form of technology and i too think that every car should have it. For someone to be watching over you at all times makes you feel safe, and doesn't everyone want to feel safe? On Star makes sure you get the help you need when you need it.
