Sign Language becoming a part of the past?

Here is an article done on a kindergarden class of deaf children who do not communicate through sign language. Instead they have cochlear implants that were put on them as infants. They now are able to detect hearing loss in infants and can start the treatment process at an early age. These children can hear and feel vibrations through the teachers microphone and are able to communicate with her through this.

Here is the article to read more about it and to see pictures of the children in the classroom.

  1. This is very interesting BECAUSE i saw this displayed on a show series as if it was already a current technology. It will be possible in the future to add an implant into a humans brains and all the sudden he/she can hear. On the show House, he ordered a patient to receive an implant against directors orders and was detained for it. I assumed this was an existent technology but anatomy innovations are increasing at a fast pace. Mechanical hearts and other major organs are already in plain sight in the near future.

  2. This is a really cool invention. I think, Whenever an invention like this is created for the disabled people, that it's great. It's great to see technology benefitting the unfortunate people that are born with a disability such as this.
