First Telephone

This is a picture of his idea, before he made it reality.

Alexander Graham invented the telephone. He made his first phone call on March 10, 1876.

You want to know what he said?

-"Mr. Watson--come here--I want to see you"

  1. I think that it is great that the original drawing of Grahams telephone is still in good enough condition so that people can study from it.

  3. Wow where dod you find that picture of Alexandrer graham. Its good to see all of those curious prospects surrounding him in astonishment of the new never before heard of breakthrough he discovered. I'm sure that's how we will be standing around the first flying car! or the first robot that can perform precision surgery!

  4. I found this post very interesting. I did not know that the zip code did not go into effect until 1963. I thought for some reason that it was much earlier since post was the main form of communication for so long. It would be interesting to find out how letters were addressed/what system was used before the zip code system.

  5. Telephones today are nothing like they were when the first one was made. Telephones today are simple to use, and you can carry them all around your house. The first telephone would be near impossible to carry around. Alexander Graham invented such a creative piece of equipment, which has upgraded a ton since. Thank you, Alexander.

  6. Amazing how an idea that has changed the world was developed from a sketch! I wonder what he would say if he saw his impact.
